Description:  Extremely hard and durable, almost three times as hard as Red Oak. Extremely durable and beautiful, provides an exotic look and a wonderful look to any are where it is installed. This wood is so dense that it does not float.

Common Name:  Brazilian Chestnut

Country of Origin:  Brazil, Amazon Area, Guiana, Columbia, and Venezuela

Color Range:  Cumaru has a uniform yellowish-brown to light brown color with a tight even grain.

Botanical name:  Dipteryx ssp.

Other Names:  Champanha, Tonka, Almendro, Brazilian Teak, Brazilian Chestnut

Hardness:  3540 as compared to: Red oak- 1260 & N maple- 1450
